Tarot Links
- For readers of all levels
- Tarot Passages: An excellent tarot resource. In fact, it's one of the best and biggest on the Net. Features articles, deck reviews, book reviews, links, monthly spreads and much more. A must see.
- Aeclectic Tarot: Another must see. Features deck images, deck reviews, tarot basics, and much more. The best feature (IMHO) is the active and friendly discussion forum.
- Wicce's Tarot Collection: This page has tons of reviews and articles. A great resource.
- Villa Revak: A tarot site by James Revak. Includes tips for beginners, an extensive bibliography (with ratings), and some fun and games. I personally have gotten a lot from this site, and the games are quite enjoyable and informative.
- Rioux's Realm: A website by James Rioux. The tarot section includes card meanings, reviews and some thought-provoking articles.
- For beginners
- Joan Bunning's Learn the Tarot: A wonderful site for beginners. She has her whole beginning tarot course online for free. This is where I got my start in tarot. Her style is straightforward and informative, and she has lots of exercises to really get you right into using and understanding the cards.
- Historical Tarots
- New! Tarot of Marseilles Forum: a discussion forum dedicated to the Tarot of Marseilles. Great for beginners and advanced readers of Marseilles-style decks.
- Trionfi: an extensive website discussing theories of the origins of tarot. Also features a large tarot card museum where you can see pictures of the cards.
- The Hermitage: an excellent historical tarot site with lots of information. Also home to the Tarot-L Tarot History Information Sheet.
- Felicity's Tarot de Marseilles Site: Confused about what decks count as Marseilles? Your answers are here. Lots of pictures and clear categorization.
- Kris Hadar's Page: Kris is the creator of the Veritable Tarot de Marseilles, which is a modern restoration of the historical Marseilles decks. Lots of information and even a free online school.
- Deck Artists
- Ciro Marchetti: his Gilded Tarot was just released by Llewellyn and he has one called Tarot of Dreams in the works; breathtaking and bright digital art
- Gaian Tarot: a masterpiece by Joanna Colbert, done in a technique called "colored pencil painting"; an earth-centered deck; the limited edition majors only deck has sold out but there will probably be a second edition, and the minor arcana is still in the works
- Art and Words: the webpage of Kris Waldherr, who is the artist of the Goddess Tarot and the upcoming Lover's Path Tarot; the webpage offers sample images, free readings with both decks, e-cards, computer themes and more
- Baba Prague Studios: the artist team behind the critically acclaimed Tarot of Prague and the recently released (and absolutely delightful) Baroque Bohemian Cats Tarot
- The Housewives Tarot: the homepage for the Housewives' Tarot, which is a witty 50s themed deck; a kitschy fun website with free computer desktops that are to die for
- The Sakki-Sakki Tarot: a very charming and colorful deck; the website offers free readings, sample images and a wonderful shop
- Archeon Tarot: a darkly beautiful deck which is now available to buy
- Ironwing Tarot: a lovely feminine deck done with mineral-based pigments
- For purchasing decks, etc.
- Amazon.com: Amazon has a good selection and usually a pretty good markdown.
- eBay: Sometimes you can find decks fairly inexpensively here. An especially good place to find some out of print decks. However, beware of sellers who inflate the price. Check out how much the deck runs on Amazon or another site before placing a bid. Also a good place to find decorative bags to put your decks in.
- Tarot Garden: An absolutely huge selection of decks from around the world. If you can think of a deck, chances are, they've got it. Superb service. I can't praise them enough.
- Tarot Totes: I'm completely addicted to this place. I buy all my tarot bags here. They have a wonderful selection of bags and spread cloths to match almost any deck. Have an odd-sized deck? They'll also do custom work. Fast friendly service. One of my favorite places to shop.
- In the market for a gently used deck, or have one you don't want anymore? Many tarot websites (check out Aeclectic Tarot) have a forum where you can trade or sell your old decks.
